Tips and Techniques for your
Content is KING.
The content of your website, and by that we mean the TEXT, is the most important part of the creating the site as far as search engines are concerned. But it must be done correctly for the best viability on Search Engines.
By now you have selected the keywords you wish to optimize. We have used these keywords to help with domain selection, but now they really come into play. Here are the areas we want to use EXACTLY the same keywords on your website.
- Page Title (use your primary keywords as the first part of the Title)
- Page Description (use all of your keywords here)
- Meta Tags (all of your keywords and more)
- Main text on your web page (the part your visitor will see)
The last area of Text that is on the visible portion of the website is VERY important. You want to use the exact keywords you have chosen a number of times. It must be used as part of normal language. No tricks here. No invisible text. No repeating text for no reason. The search engines will recognize this behavior and penalize you accordingly. You should have a minimum of 250 words on any page that you want to optimize.
One final note: Use 'Heading Tags' with keywords for section titles. With Intuit SiteBuilder you create an HTML element of the form: <h1 align="center">Your Keywords Here</h1>
For information on where all these text content elements are added in Intuit SiteBuilder you can click here for details.
Once you have built your site and it is published, AND only after you have obtained the domain name, you are ready to start creating the 'back links'.
